My whole life has always been about dogs. First a Labrador-mix (named Whiskey), and after that a Terrier-mix (named Rakker). After our last dog passed away, we decided there would be no more dogs.
But during my training as a paraveterinary, I often had to take a dog with me. Indie, the Sheltie of an accuantance, and Tigo, my aunt's long-haired Dachshund, were often to be found in my presence.
After living without dogs for two years, I still wasn't used to the absence of one. After negotiating for al long time, I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, and the search for my "ideal dog" began. By contacting owners and breeders I began to interest myself for several breeds. Soon I found out, that the Australian Kelpie fulfilled all my demands. To get more acquainted with the breed, I visited several dogs in real-life. After my first visit, I immediately fell in love with this wonderful breed!
After being on a waiting-list for nearly 9 months, Resa came into our lives in 2004. She meets all my expectations, and is a very active, well-socialized dog, always into doing fun stuff. Whether this is a form of dog-training or a walk in the woods, doesn't matter to her.
October 2007 Resa delivered her first litter of 5 puppies of which I kept one daughter named Amy (for further information seeĀ Litters)
Through this website, I'm hoping to create a better image of the Australian Kelpie as a breed and my own dogs in particular. Enjoy the website and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time!
Best regards, Lieke Soyer.
